Cougar 69 Ride height

Hey from Finland. I hope you can help me. I need new leaf springs but what kind of? I want to keep my ride height like it is now, or little lower. I have from fender lip to center of wheel 37cm (14.5inch). So if you can tell me what kind of spring you are using and what is measure from fender to wheel. Thank you!

Welcome
Nice looking Cougar. Post more pics please.
Can’t help you on what springs to get.
It does appear to be lifted in the rear.

Petterii,
Welcome to the forum and great to hear from fellow Cougar people from across the globe. That is a great looking 69 XR7. Our 69 XR7 has a distance of 13 inches from wheel center to fender lip. But our leaf springs are 48 years old. I too would like to get new springs, they are on my Christmas wish list!! I am sure someone will chime in with other measurements and help for you. I like the stance of your Cougar, it looks nice.

Stock height should be around 25" (24.6 for handling/competition and 25.3 for standard according to the body manual) . That’s ground to wheel lip of course, if you want center of the tire an E70-14 is supposed to be 25.6" high, divide by 2ish to get the center of the wheel (due to tire pressures allowing the tire to flatten out at the bottom), call it 12" and a stock height should be around 13" to wheel center. If you’re using a stock shackle a stock spring will probably put things about where they are now and settle out to a little lower.

Looks like a lot of meat on those tires though – you’ll want to make sure those clear properly.
