To make things a little interesting, I’ll buy a $50 WCCC gift certificate for the person who fantasy bids closest on the Ron Pratte CJ Eliminator. Eligible bids (it should go without saying) need to be posted here before the car gets on stage. Only one entry per person. Use the “hammer” price before commissions. Closest can be over or under, but under wins in event of a tie. You can edit your bid, so long as you do it before the car hits the stage. Void where prohibited. Judge’s ruling is final. Your mileage may vary.
I’ll go with $133,000 on the Pratte car, but only because it is signed by Carroll Shelby.
Anyone know if this serial number #038 Factory Show car originally came with the Mustang hood twist locks? I like 'em, and think that they all should have came with them.
We probably discussed this car many years ago, but I don’t remember.
I do remember meeting the owner of the gold CJ convertible many years ago, really nice guy. His daily driver was a 1969 Eliminator. He also had a 1957 T-Bird in his collection, I can’t remember but it was either an E code or F code car.
Funny.
I got my Event Book from BJ today. In that, it says “The dash is even signed by Carroll Shelby, who had little or nothing to do with creating the Cougar Eliminator.”
The event book also says the car was restored by experts… anyone know who did it?
Also… looks like it crosses the block on Tues., Jan 13 early evening +/-
$79K… Mostly because of the things Dave Wywras posted about it. I think prices are still somewhat soft, the time slot isn’t great, and this one sounds like #2 quality.
