That’s awesome! Congrats!

Robert, seems like a Christmas gift for Isabel is due. Maybe a tank of “HiTest” and the cover, framed & hung in front of her “Stall”.

Hi Dave!

One of the last times I made a pass down our beloved drag strip: 12.9s@110MPH E-Town Pass

Regards,

Robert

A worthy notion Bill, thanks! She has a full tank of super and fuel stabilizer and is resting comfortably on the lift under a nice car cover. Although I drive her, I pamper her as best I can in spite of that.

Regards,

Robert

Congratulations Robert! You did a fantastic job on your XR-7. I saw it at the 2011 East Coast Nationals and was an inspiration to complete the resto-mod on my 69 XR-7.

Awesome Mr. Superchicken! Happy that Isabel provided inspiration to you.

For anyone who is unlikely to put eyes on a print copy of HMM, here is a link to the article online if you would like to read: Isabel Hemmings Muscle Machines January, 2023

I would love to see an image of the " intramedullary nail " shifter !

Congratulations Robert! Making the cover to Hemmings Muscle Machines is a big deal!

Isabel looks gorgeous - that custom air cleaner decal is my favorite

Sure thing! Here is the nail used to initially fix my shattered femur:

Long story but I had two subsequent surgeries to fix what the first “doctor” (aka Quack!) did. Anyway, here is the nail with a block of titanium (since it is titanium) welded on after drilling the two needed holes (VERY tough job) for mounting the TKO shifter and threading (also a VERY tough job) for a shifter knob:

I was unable to find a picture of the shifter stalk before installation. Hopefully the two pictures give an idea of the before/after on this part.

Regards,

Robert

LOL Phillip, I know what you mean on the decal, and I agree!

Ha! Now I can say my work has appeared in Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine! :beers:

Found the pic I was looking for. The rod is hollow. Not one to let an interesting feature go un-utilized, the wire is a trick I did in case I wanted to have a backlighted shift knob, a line lock, or…

One more.

Hi Robert - your creativity and craftsmanship is one-of-a-kind and first rate. That is most impressive, and what a way to get some more mileage out of the original hardware from your leg !
