After being signed up and not being able to go in 2014 because of my injury, we’re off to Cruisin’ Ocean City, Md. tomorrow morning. The event draws over 3000 cars and has reached capacity (guessing somewhere north of 3K cars). The event has everything from mild to wild (a lot of wheelie bars, parachutes and blowers from what I’ve seen on YT). Should be fun with the new 408C (and a few fuel stops!).
Break a leg!!!
:hide:
Sounds like a good time. I’ve been to the Boardwalk at OC Maryland one time. Really nice place.
Have fun!! 408C
Enjoy Robert!
18+ mpg on the way down, very surprised! Beautiful day, 408 ran perfectly. Wild scene down here. Life is good.
Enjoy! That is great mileage for 302, much less a 408.
Bob it looks like you had a good trip and time at the show. What did you place with that trophy?
Steven
They did not have places per se. The plaque says:
Thanks for asking Steven. Yes, it was a great and interesting event. We are taking it easy on ourselves and staying until tomorrow before heading home.
Outstanding show award. Very nice. Car show/weekend get-away what could be better.
Steven
Nicely done Bob, , of course seeing another trophy with Isabel isn’t exactly shocking, its more like expected these days. Have a nice cruise home and we’ll be waiting to see all the pic’s you took of the extravaganza
I just shudder when I think about what you were going through a year ago. Dayum. Take it easy and this time, don’t break a leg…
Stuff happens Bill (thanks though!). I’ll be right as rain after the last surgery which is scheduled for mid-July (the hardware generally has to come out as it bothers most people including me). We keep on going, what else can you do?
Great weekend away although my wife is calling me “Lobsterman” since my face got so much sun!
Where’s the fun in that (it’s expected)?!
Will do on the pics, some radical rides (including a GIANT shopping cart contraption!), never seen anything like it! This might be the guy/rig:
Just saying Bob, if I saw your cat roll in i’d be going ok, theres one less trophy for me Ive seen a giant grocery cart at the NASCAR Bristol race before, sponsored by Food City of course
Okay, here’s some select pictures by request!:
How cool is this rig?!:

Cadillac convertible with heavy flake paint job and sidepipes (LOL)
This fellow had trouble starting his mega-expensive car when he went to leave
I liked this “Root Beer” metallic paint job, was nicely done
This VW was just too cool (talk about sleeper)! Looked to have been built in a GM chassis and pretty much only the body was VW
Never saw so many wheelie bars, parachutes and blowers!
Only met two other Cougar owners (a '70 HT from Pa. parked on one side of me and a '70 light yellow 'vert parked on the other side of me!) but I saw a fair number of them, I was surprised!
I like these wheels. They look familiar!
Nice shot a friend of a friend took of Isabel
My wife Diann checking out “Isabel: Hurricane Resurrection, a Seven Year Journey”, a photo/story book (using Shutterfly) she encouraged me to make
My wife, our two pups and I cruised the boardwalk in the daily parade they had on Friday morning. Even with the light pedal of my Centerforce Dual Friction 11" clutch, my clutch (bad) leg was killing me by the time we got finished. The damned inlet parking lot (where the parade ends) was full by the time we got there! Had to “unsave” a spot in order to park, the “saver” was not happy but oh well!
Ride home on the Lewes, De/Cape May, NJ ferry
Custom 408 Cleveland valve cover decals looking sweet. No oil consumption or leaks, the new engine ran flawlessly, very pleased.
Looks like a good time. That Caterpillar Model A is BADAZZ!
Bad Azz indeed!:

(From memory on the storyboard): His Dad was a Caterpillar heavy equipment fan. He built it in memory of his father and he made something incredible!
