Dark Ivy Gold Interior Color

Greetings,

I need to do some recovering of the seats in my 1969 XR7. My trim code is 6G (dark ivy gold). Is it supposed to look just like a very dark green color? I saw another xr7 at a car show recently, and the ‘dark ivy gold’ color looked different than mine…much lighter. Granted, mine are old and tired…what’s the real color supposed to look like? Any chance someone can post a pic?

thanks for the help!

No pics but Dark Ivy Gold is a dark metallic green color. It can fade over the past 50 years so you will see vast differences in original examples.

This link about interior colors might be useful as a reference point. The Dark Ivy Gold looks pretty dark to me, but as Royce mentioned, decades of UV damage can alter the colors. My car is a 2G Decor Group Light Ivy Gold, which in the brochure looks a bit more tan than my current color:

You can also see the console aged to a greener color compared to the rest of the upholstery.

The steering wheel pad looks like the right shade for Light Ivy Gold. The rest of the parts appear to have been dyed or have been changed over the years.

It may be the subpar quality of the photo, because in person, all of the parts appear the same shade (console notwithstanding). The door armrests did discolor to a gross brownish color, but I always figured that was from years of sunlight and elbow grease…

The thing is the factory only molded parts in a few colors. After that some of the colors were sprayed with dye, often by various contractors. So the parts didn’t precisely match when the car was new. Give parts 50 or more years in the sun and they match even worse.
