I looking for the best method to dye-paint my lucky find for an original dash pad. I will be painting it from dark Green to black. Any good work flows? Sems?
Thank you very much

What year is your Cougar? I have a pretty nice black dash pad in my 68 and need dark green. Maybe we could trade and save the dye process?
Edit:
Here’s the only photo of my dash pad that I have handy.
You and me both Steve!
I bought a nice one from a guy on Facebook but turns out it was painted.
To answer the question: Clean the pad very thoroughly many times. Recommend a grey scruff pad. Then use SEM Vinyl Prep 38343. Just follow the instructions. Next step is SEM 39863- Really follow the instructions here because it will require multiple coats with specific timing between each coat. There will be a final drying time before the application of the flexible vinyl paint of your choice.
I painted my red dash like this over ten years ago and it still looks great. Like most painting jobs, it is all about the prep.
Hope this helps-joe
Thank you very much for your help!

Right on and good luck.
