DelMarVa Regional Show Solomons, Maryland 10/7/2023

Thank you Phillip, Jim, Carl and everyone else who helped put on the Cougar show in Solomons, Maryland. Myself and everyone I spoke with had a great time. Over the 3 days of being on site, we had a few hours of some ugly weather. While the storm was passing over most of us gathered in the hotel lobby while a few stayed outside under the registration tent. The weather quickly turned from bad to absolutely perfect. With some squeegee and chamois action the cars dried off and were gleaming in the sun. It was a beautiful display of Cougars. The banquet dinner was really nice. There were many old pictures projected on a big screen for everyone to see. Pics of Cougar events and gatherings from the past 25 years…much to reminisce about…I could go on and on about this show, my friends, the trip and the Cougars… All in all, thanks DelMarVa for organizing this event and thanks to those who attended. I’m certainly looking forward to the next time.

I second the appreciation for a wonderful event- nice venue, event schedule with plenty of time to mingle and a great banquet that focused on the history of the club’s that sponsored. Was so nice to see the old slides and learn the details of the early days. Saturdays showers were a minor inconvenience and actually helped the turnout of local folks that saw the cars on the hill and stopped to see the Cougars. Thanks to all who put forth the effort to put the event together!

Thanks guys - WHEW!

As anyone who has ever organized a show knows, it was a lot of work with some anxious moments, but soooo worth it.

Thanks to everyone who came out. Can’t have a show if no one shows up!

Be sure to visit the Delmarva FB page for pics and videos.

It was awesome to get to see the Carlisle gang an extra time this year! Here you are Mark, helping Paul by pointing out where his ignition problem was

Wow, great pic! Paul had everything under control. He was just letting me help so I didn’t feel useless with my injured finger.

LOL - Mark always does a lot of helping - this weekend he did a lot of helping and a lot of pointing.

Zoom in on his finger and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

The finger was still attached, can still move and can still feel. It will heal…and, I am a tad bit smarter.
Since everyone was asking about the wrapped up finger, it would have been funny to slip a pic in the slide show at the dinner banquet of before it was stitched up. Well, funny for a select few.

That would have been a cruel trick - but funny! Especially if we recorded peoples reactions!

One last pic of the late night parking lot action.

I was wondering why you were driving up on the curb!

I also want to acknowledge the CCNJ/PA’s Paul Damato. Paul is our resident beer expert (and all-around great guy) so he coordinated with the brewery next to the host hotel, The Ruddy Duck, on a special brew just for our show. The “Cougar Swill” poured the entire weekend, especially during the Lugnutz show Friday night!

It was a hoot seeing it on the drink menu.

Here is the full length video of my trip to Solomons. Best viewed on a larger screen, like a TV. Over an hour of Cougar action.

Wow Mark, that video is wonderful. Thank you so much for documenting the event and our adventures - for all time.

Just a bummer we have to wait out the winter until the next Carlisle…

Hey Maryland guy here. Just a suggestion maybe we could have a bi-annual meet in Ellicott City, MD. It’s on I-95 between Baltimore and DC. People as far north as Boston and as south as Atlanta could do it in under 8 hrs. Maybe able to get more cars if it was closer?

Thanks and I hope you enjoyed the music!

I did! Great pacing and editing. I know that is a lot of work!

69_R_code_XR7, we are having our club Holiday Luncheon the first weekend in December (I assume you’re a DCC member?). That would be a good time to discuss your Ellicott show.
