Destination Event: Cougars at Steamtown.
If you like trains and railroading this will be a Cougar event your won’t want to miss. Saturday October 1st members of The Mercury Cougar Club of New England, Cougar Club of New Jersey and Pennsylvania with the DelMarVa Cougar Club will be getting together in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This is event was brought about to break-up the year long wait to see our friends at the next Carlisle All Ford show. Scranton is a central location accessible for much of DelMarVa and MCCNE regions. Instead of simply parking and hanging out we decided to incorporate the get-together with an interesting destination. Along with Cougars I love many mechanical things including trains which makes this trip doubly exciting. This event is open to all Cougar people beyond the clubs listed above.
The visit to Steamtown will be on Saturday October 1st at 9am. Enjoy the day at Steamtown viewing the exhibits and taking a 4 hour excursion. We are planning to meet for dinner Saturday evening. Then pass the time hanging around the Cougars in the parking lot. Departure is on Sunday, after breakfast of course.
Some of us will be arriving the day before on Friday September 30th. You can participate in as much of or little of this get-together as you’d like.
A block of rooms is set aside for us at the Hampton Inn on Montage Mountain…about 15 minutes from Steamtown. If you’d like to reserve a room please call 570-342-7002. Rates start at $109 per night if you mention “Cougar Club”.

The only requirement (which is not enforced, but encouraged) is you must drive a Cougar to get there. Although, if your Cougar wants to stay home, we’d like to have you join us anyway----just wear your favorite Cougar T-shirt!
Hope to see ya there!
