Differential ID #'s

What do these #'s on my '69’s differential ID tag mean?
'WES-AA 8KD
3.00 9 952A"

WES-AA tells you what the car line and gear ratio this was used in
9KD is the date code. 8=1968 K= Month October. I think the D is what shift built it.
3.00 is the gear ratio. Note this one is an open, if it were 3L00 it would be a trac-loc unit
9= 9-inch ring gear
952A I forgot…

edit, missing “f” in shift

“D” is what shift ( 4th ) built the axle. 952A is the assembly plant code - and I’d be surprised if you can find ANY data on how that decodes !

The “D” in 9KD is the week (4th) of the month
The 952A is the axle plant code. It will also be found on the build sheet if you had one.
