I’m a bit confused about this disc brake pressure control valve. WCC doesn’t list a part by this description, but I believe the term is being changed to brake proportioning valve. Same thing? I have a 67 GT with disc front and drum rear. I believe I’m supposed to have this proportioning valve attached to brake line end at rear differential before the line reaches the “split” going to each rear wheel. Looks like mine is missing? Here is a pic of how mine is run at the rear differential. So the brake line is connected directly to the flexible line which goes the T conntection for rear wheels. Am I correct that mine is missing?
The proportioning valve is located up front in the enginebay, at the fender appron besides the master brakecylinder
Actually the proportioning valve in 1967 model year is located at the rear and as Ddurden says, it is missing. You can probably get the '67 part from WCCC. You might have to pick up the phone and speak to a human.
Ops, sorry, did not know that 67 have a different location
Ok thanks for confirming. Looks like someone decided it wasn’t needed at some point. It seems the purpose of it is to keep the rear brakes from locking up during hard braking.I will get one from WCC.
Have you checked to make sure that it is not in the metal line a little further toward the front from the rear connector.
I followed it all the way up to the distribution block. No where to be found.
