So I outsmarted myself, again. I found the IH cap and rotor, that will let you run a Duraspark distributor, with a modern HEI male ends, for modern plug wires. I also recently bought a 1968 Ford distributor, with a pertronix module already installed. The plan was to use the smaller, IH cap and rotor, on the Ford distributor, so I can keep the modern plug wires. But the spacer, that activates the module makes it too tall use the IH cap. So the question is what cap and rotor, fit the Ford distributor, that retains the male end for the modern plug wires? I don’t want to rebuild the duraspark distributor, and the advance is waaay too much. This is for my 68 with a decent built 289.
Try 75 to 89 mustang 3 pc unit. Top cap , addaptor and rotor
Gives you a large dia cap with hei male ends , an addaptor that should go from your current dist to the new big cap and a rotor
Ran one on our 67 gt with Pertronix II for years
The flame thrower coil drove me crazy til i replaced it with a coil out of a sniper II set up
Thanks for the reply, but I have a duraspark already in the car. I wanted to get rid of the obvious, wide HEI cap. I installed the IH parts, that let me run the small cap and rotor, on the Duraspark distributor. I’m looking for just a taller, small diameter cap with the HEI male ends that will fit the 1968 distributor. The mechanical advance is way high on the duraspark, and I want a more period correct actual distributor. I just need a taller cap-
