Do you have to remove the rear quarter window, on a 69 convertible, to change the seal that runs along the edge of quarter window(seals to door window). I was looking for a video on how to replace the edge rubber seal on the quarter window and couldn’t find one that was specific for the 69. It would be crazy that Ford designed the replacement of that seal to be so entailed.
On a 1969 Cougar the seal that is between the door glass and the quarter glass is on the back edge of the door glass. There is no seal on the quarter window glass. For 1970 Ford changed the system so that the seal is now on the quarter window glass. Try looking for a video for a 1970. It is very common for people to swap the glue in 1969 glass for the bolt in style 1970 glass. That may be what has happened to your car.

how do you stop the glass from dropping down inside the door ?
Made a mistake. Yes the vertical weatherstrip is on the door window edge and not the quarter window. Okay how do you replace the vertical weatherstrip or seal on the side of door window?
The new rubber seal slides into the channel on the aluminum piece. Weatherstrip - Vertical - Door Glass - Driver Side - Repro ~ 1969 Mercury Cougar / 1969 Ford Mustang ( 1969 Mercury Cougar, 1969 Ford Mustang ) at West Coast Classic Cougar :: The Definitive 1967 - 1973 Mercury Cougar Parts Source
So you don’t have to pull the window out. Thank!!!
You know that WCC link shows the weatherstrip attaching to the quarter window. Maybe I see something different.
That diagram is for a 70. Weatherstrip attaches to back of front side windows on a 69.
So the diagram is misleading. I use to think the 69 and 70 were basically the same in all ways except for few things but seems there are a number of differences. Thanks
There is a screw at the bottom of the seal strip that secures it to the chrome piece. You may have to remove the rubber piece on the rear face of the door at the top.
Thank You so much for the information.
