I got exactly what I asked for for Christmas, the USA-1 stereo, AM/FM/Cassette/Aux-In stereo of my dreams… EXCEPT… the faceplate says Mustang and the cassette door has the running ponies logo. The label on the box clearly says 1967-1973 Mercury Cougar, so I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt and assume it was the supplier making the error and not WCCC ordering them incorrectly.
This certainly does not ruin Christmas even a little, if the RMA process isn’t painful.
I also got a gift card and a check and some cash as other gifts from other people, all of which will be put toward a gift certificate that I’ll be giving to myself. So that means Don Rush has made Christmas rule!
The only question now is which of the many different parts will I be ordering at this point. I have to keep reminding myself that the functional stuff should come before the aesthetic. So the fuel tank and lines are for sure #1. Power steering control valve is probably #2. But I really wanna try and sneak in hood pins too. Off to look at my bookmarks and start doing some math!!!
It’s just awful the way this Don Rush push…, er, purveyor entices innocents into buying his crack…, I mean, car parts. He managed to get my wife to buy the Scott Drake scuff plates with shiny new emblems. But did he stop there? No! He even got to my kids, and sold them each a pair of pure 67 window cranks. And then, to add insult to injury, he somehow managed to hook Santa into giving me a 67 owners manual. The man is really diabolical!
OH and he has co-conspirators! Seems John Benoit got in on the fun. Along with all the extra work for those poor Fed Ex throwers Oh woe is me now I have to sit down and figure what all I have and what the Easter Rush bunny can bring me just in time for warm weather!!!
Sorry about that… IIRC correctly the last time the supplier did that they just sent our customer the part directly to correct it. Easy fix, appreciate your laid back attitude and continued support of WCCC. Happy New Years!
LOL! Yes… I feel your pain. I think many of our foreign customers are the most die-hard considering what they pay for tax, tariff and shipping. Often getting the part in hand can cost more than the part itself!
Pretty painless Don. I talked to Lyn today and got my UPS return label email already. I’m also gonna throw my sport clock in the box for y’all to use as a core (it’s in awesome shape) for some store credit that I’ll add onto the tons of money I’m already gonna spend in the next couple weeks. Yay Christmas!!!
You might wanna check the rest of your USA-1 radios. I noticed that the box on mine has the manufacturer label on the side indicating Mustang but the WCCC sticker indicating Cougar. They maybe sent you a whole batch of the wrong ones.
