Door hinge repair...

On a 69 what is the easiest way to take off a driver side door hinge?
I have big clumsy hands.
Is it feasible to take off the fender bolts and pull it back far enough to get to the hinge bolts?. I don’t have the wrench I need and with my hands I’d be chasing bolts amongst the fender anyway.
As you can see the lines are off and when the door is opened it drops about a half inch once it clears the rocker. The rear gap is good and it has door edge guards.

Thanks…

On my 67 I had to pull the fenders.

There is a special wrench made for this job. It has an S shape to it and allows you to remove the bolts without doing anything to the fender.

Would you have a picture or a specific name of this wrench. Thanks

Check out the WCCC video about this.

And I believe it’s called a door hinge wrench.

If you choose to leave the fender on this is the wrench you will need. The video posted here will be helpful as well.

They are called an obstruction wrench and if you purchase one at a reasonable price we will buy it from you when you are done but only the Snap-On I linked will work.

Thanks for the offer but I think I will pull the fender. It will give me a better idea what things look like behind it.

Yes, pull the fender, there so much to learn being someone that has pulled both of mine off opens new worlds of untouched areas that usually will also need some attention anyway. Then the door hinges will be cake at that point. Watch Dogs video though as there are a few good tips to use anyways.
