I thought I’d share this with everyone. The best part of owning my Cougar is spending time taking the car out and making memories with my family. We usually go to cruise-ins and shows. This weekend was different we went to a drive-in movie. The car club I’m a member of got together and put on a show and we used a old ampitheater that the City owns for the drive-in. The local drive-in went out of business in the late 80’s so most of our members children have never been to a outdoor movie. This was the case for my 14 year old daughter. My wife and youngest son Ian were feeling a little under the weather with mild colds so it was just Abby and I that went to the movie. We showed “Gone in 60 Seconds” ( a great car movie ). The weather was perfect, the turn out was great (25 cars showed up) and the memories for my daughter and I…PRICELESS! Abby said she really enjoyed the entire experience and hope we can do it again. So if you get a chance go to see a drive-in movie or just spend time with you family, it makes every moment in life wonderful.

I remember Drive-In Movies.
When I was a kid we took the staion wagon, saw The Shaggy Dog.
Saw American Graffitti at the drive-in.
That drive-in (44 Outdoor) is long gone, shopping center now.
But there is a drive-in about an hour from here, one of these days well will check it out.
There are a number of theaters still open.
We still have an active Drive-In near home. It’s a single screen deal without the speakers on the poles anymore. You tune your car radio to a certain station. We take the terrors at least once or twice a summer.
Saw my first R-Rated movie at the Drive-in. “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” in the Hero circa 1982… LONG before it had reached Hero status. LMAO!
…I remember seeing Smokey & the Bandit at the (long-gone) drive-in near Amboy, NJ as a kid. '73 Torino wagon, my dad put down the tailgate window & us kids sat on top of the closed tailgate door with our arms resting on the roof.
American Graffitti is what was planned but it got out voted in favor of “Gone in 60 Seconds”.
It’s a 1955 Ford Customline. Our club president owns it. It still has it’s origional chrome and stainless. The engine is still the Y block, I think a 292 with a 4 barrell Holley.
Good deal Steven, and glad you included pictures Which gone in 60 seconds did you see, the new one (Nick Cage ) or the vintage one? My last drive in movie was the original back in the day, the last row was always held by the non family cars who enjoyed some adult beverages
It was the new version with Nick Cage. No that I’ve seen the new one I have to find a copy of the old version to watch. Is it as good or better than the remake?

I never actually watched the movie at a drive in. Use to go in my friends van with a pony keg and a group of us would meet there and party for the evening. Where else could a bunch of minors drink and not worry about getting busted. We stayed in the back and didn’t get to rowdy to draw attention to what we were doing. I remember a lot of the Bruce Lee movies playing…I think
