Driveshaft stripes? 1967 GT 4 speed car

OK you did not say that. Is the build sheet from a Cougar equipped with Competition suspension?

Not familiar with the Cougar buildsheets as much as Mustang of course. What line and box is it listed and how is that box marked so I can confirm?

And while we’re covering the topic was the competition suspension different from the Mustang competition suspension (adjustable shocks and so on)?

So far I have not seen a 1967 Cougar with the competition suspension and a buildsheet. I have seen the build sheets on two GT-E’s which have the competition suspension standard. On both of those build sheets it lists the C7WA - N rear springs.

One of the examples -

Sorry guys I might have misspoken. I was referring to the upgraded suspension included in the GT package. Maybe it’s called performance handling package? My car does not have an option listed in the marti stating “competition suspension”

Thanks - thought that (no comp suspension) might be the case. So for a sampling from the 67 S code 4 speed with AC buildsheet I was referring to. Does show the Special Equipment Group (line B #4) and the 1 green - 1 green stripe for its rear springs. Happens to be one of the nicest buildsheets I’ve come across as far as legibility.

Hope this helps

OK Jeff So would that indicate grn/grn on the top leaf near the rear shackle mount or grn/grn on the smallest bottom leaf like I showed photos of?

The stripes go on the leaf stamped with the part number. Yours have the remains of the original stripes.

OK. This is my first '67/'68 so still learning about them. Thanks all for the help. Regarding the slip yoke, is this yoke from dead nuts on accurate?

28 Spline 1330 Slip Yoke: 1967-1969 Ford Production - Dead Nuts On

It is accurate and it says unavailable too.

OK. I have the original yoke for my car, was more so referencing the paint marking on the dead nuts on yoke

For a 67 (68 are sometimes different depending on spring and when springs were made) on the short leaf typically at the rear (as mounted in the car) just behind the stamping information. Workers could get a short leaf turned around backwards like one of yours was. They work fine that way but your original show the marks as I described above based on the rust shadow in the metal in your pictures

As for yokes and markings Dead nuts on is likely showing a yoke from a different year so be careful. He typically focuses more on later 69-70 details. Keep focusing on 67 and cars from that production year and unrestored cars since many owners “borrow” marks from other years and plants so no telling what you’ll see.And consider that many will be doing the same while viewing your car assuming that you did your homework or they were original to your car. So your responsible for those.
