Dual exhaust shackles?

1973 XR-7, 351C 2v with dual exhaust added. The car sits perfectly level but I want to raise the rear for that 60’s rake look. Have read enough on this site to avoid air shocks. Don’t want to use extended shackles that can wear out leaf springs. I notice a different part listing for dual exhaust shackles. Are these supposed to give a bit of extra lift? Has anyone used them over an extended period?

Hello. I went with the factory shackles and custom leafs

https://www.truckspring.com/leaf-springs/auto-rv-truck-springs.aspx?make=Mercury&year=1968&model=Cougar

The dual exhaust shackles are 1 inch longer than the stock (single exhaust) shackles. I’ll wait and install stronger leaf springs in the future.

Got a link?

My 67 sags a little in the rear. Seemed to me the easiest fix would be longer shackles – the recent posts say dual exhaust shackles are 1" longer. My factory shackles are 3 1/2 center to center, so I’d be looking for 4 1/2 center to center. I’ve looked for these, but haven’t found. (I find 4 1/2 for Mustang, but these have bigger bushings.) Where can I find for 676 Cougar?

You can also add a leaf or have your springs re-arced a bit, too.

When a leaf is added , where is it added in the stack.

The dual exhaust shackles (Scott Drake C6ZZ-5776-GT) are also 3 1/2" center to center. They look nice but will not raise the rear end.

A 1966 Mustang part. I think Cougars had there own shackles that would have a W instead of a Z in the part number C7W insted of C6Z.
