Early '67 Standard Cougar on BAT

Serial number 219! Very nice looking car. Good luck to the seller and buyer.

That car would detail to museum quality. I hope the new owner can resist adding aftermarket ac and a borgesen kit. Has to be one of the cleanest early cars in existence. I should purchase it just to keep around as a template.

It also shows the slanted positioning of the “Mercury” script on the front of the driver side fender.

The early production cars seemed to have oriented the Mercury emblem to the contour line at the top of the fender extension. Eventually, normal production has the Mercury emblem was parallel with the fender extension moulding.

We should expand the listings on the WCCC site to show both versions.

I have seen this Cougar. It was sold new in Bellingham WA. But note the DSO is for Boston(11).

I know of a almost identical, but with a 4 speed that resides near Boston, but has a Seattle DSO(54)

This car was well taken care of by the original owners. Somebody will have a fine car when this sells.
