This landed in my inbox this morning. An “interesting” description of this 1968…
Blue with red interior!!! I know that back in the 60’s for extra $$$ you could get your car painted whatever color they had to offer.
I guess I am missing the part that is interesting? It does seem a fairly solid low option car in a rather undesirable color combination. They didn’t make many this way - because no one wanted one like that when they were new either.
The replaced left quarter panel would merit a thorough investigation before buying.
Well, at least 2 people wanted that color combo.
I was amused by the (1) of (2) with a heavy duty battery…
Someone actually ordered a Wellington blue 1968 Cougar with red bench seat. True one of one car.
Not so rare, were the 15 Wellington blue XR7’s, with red interior, they made 15 of those.
LOL
Must be some college out there that had those colors in 1968.
I remember around this time last year a Wellington Blue XR7G with red interior was for sale on eBay. It was a rough car and the color combonation seemed odd. I guess if I saw one in person in good condition with fresh paint and interior my opinion might change.

I would totally go for a dark blue car with red interior! Or Brittany (silver) blue with a red interior. Different, but somehow appealing to me.
Y’all are messed up. Interiors should be one of three colors: black, black, or black. Nah, just kidding. Black, grey, or tan. The 1988 XR7’s seemed to ALL have RED interior, regardless if they were black, white, or red in paint, and that has always been a detractor to me in trying to acquire one. Same story with the blue interiors…why??? GAAAAH!
YMMV
