Ebay Junk Listings

I may be behind the times but I just found out a tip on doing ebay searches that eliminates the junk listings - i.e. floor mats, car covers, wheel covers etc

add the itmes you don’t want retuned to with a minus sign at the end of the search

1971 cougar -mats -covers -cover -bolts -caps - adding the “-” with items you don’t want to search for reduced the results from 14069 items to 1158

This removers the majority of the “also fits” items.

I put quotation marks before and after my search terms and get even less junk.

That’s great! Thanks for sharing. I hated all the bogus junk they throw in with the searches.

Lew! I LOVE that rag top! :eek2:

1971 cougar -mats -covers -cover -bolts -caps. You can also do the same thing using brackets -(mats, covers, cover, bolts, caps)

Same if you want listings with 71 to 73

(1971, 1972, 1973) cougar -(mats, covers, cover, bolts, caps)

(1971, 1972, 1973) gets you any listing with 1971 or 1972 or 1973

If they would just add a function in the advance search which would let you turn off the “fits” category it would eliminate all the HID lights and other generic crap.

Good to know, I have stopped looking on ebay for anything because of all the junk.

Not completely fool proof though. I put in 67 cougar -cover to get rid of all of the annoying car covers that popped up recently. Unfortunately, it cut out nearly all of the 100 or so cougar items I have listed.
