I’m sure I can figure this one out by grabbing one of the Probe Electric Motors but thought if someone else has a quick answer then we can fix the documentation. In Mr. Bruce Habels document he shows a diagram of the motor bracket with measurements. The measurements on the right side of the diagram (circled in red on this photo) do not seem to be right since the height of the bracket is only 4.5 inches. Anyone know the correct measurements for the holes on the right side? 2.5" and 2.75" maybe?
This might help.
There you go, that is a better drawing. Thx.
Starting to make a little progress on this Probe headlight motor project. I have the brackets made. Made them out of aluminum stock that I had laying around the garage so rust shouldn’t be any issue but then I painted them black anyway just to make them less visible. Next it’s on to the lever arms…
I find this headlight vacuum motor conversion kit intriguing…
That is intriguing…where’d you find that?
A very brief article in the May Auto Enthusiasts magazine. I checked the website but it isn’t showing up yet as a product. Thought this could easily be modified to work on the Cougar - it is for '68/'69 GTO currently. Someone could do this and sell a few as kits.
At $990 it seems very expensive. After reading this thread I did a search and here is what I found.
Steven
It truly is a miracle…
Good job…now come do mine!!!
Maybe after my bloody arms and hands heal. Everything in the grill area wants to cut and maim you.
I was thinking about taking the Dremel to all that casting flash. Some of that stuff just looks ugly.
Anybody know why the TCCN conversion uses first-gen Probe motors? Anyone used the 93-up second gens? Local pick n pull has a plethora of the seconds, but no firsts, so it got me wondering…(BTW, not trying to jack your thread, figured it would be convenient to have the info in the same one!)
