I’m about to get her running. Waiting on the trans cooler adapters so I can fill the fluids and see if she will start.
Here’s what I have:
Rebuilt 302.
Rebuilt transmission.
New alternator.
New wheel cylinders, shoes, adjusters, master cylinder, power steering hoses, cylinder, and pump.
New brake light switch.
New main ground cable to front of motor.
New heavier gauge ground from firewall to back of motor.
New starter.
New headlight switch
New high beam switch
Been busy busy.
This is what I can confirm works so far.
Parking lamps.
Tail lamps.
Headlamps- low beam and high. And dash indicator for high.
Brake lamps.
Horn.
Wipers.
Heater blower motor.
New battery.
What doesn’t work.
Interior courtesy lights- door switch or rotating the headlight switch.
Turn signals. (Dash indicator lights up solid for that side; sequencer motor in trunk turns and runs and click click clicks) no exterior front or rear lights come on wirh turn or hazard flashed switch.
Hazard flasher button activates the sequencer motor also and sounds same as turn signal.
No backlights for gauges.
Battery measures 12.7 at the posts. I’ve been playing with it so once I get it to start, it’ll get good and charged.
I have two wires coming from steering wheel down steering column that have exposed terminals and aren’t connected to anything. They were zip tied to column.
Some people tell me they are extra wires likely from a service replacement TS switch. One is brown and one is yellow with brown or black tracer.
All fuses seem to be good. Fuse in inline fuse holder I’ve been told is for TS is good. Remove it and the lights ln dash and sequencer motor don’t work. Replace it and it works as stated above.
Really don’t want to give up yet. But I’m stumped and ready to throw in the towel.
Besides the other stuff mentioned, it’s got new Wheels and tires and new floor pans, seats, etc.
So I’ve got a lot of time invested and money invested for it to cause me to want to shove it back in the side of the garage forever but I’m close.
Can someone help me from my sanity?
I wanted to check all the wiring and stuff before I hooked it all up and got it running to make sure no shorts or surprises.
If anyone is in the Dallas Fort Worth texas area and has expertise and wants to lend a hand, I’ll buy beer or food or whatever at this point.
