Recently I bought a '71 XR7 convertible.
After a few days I noticed that there was a bad connection in the wiring harness behind the dash.
The former owner had a new radio installed but as it needed to much current, it fried a few cables.
I connected the radio directly to the battery and replaced the fried cables.
Only the light of the lightswitch worked. I cut the cable with the lights in the right side from the steering wheel and connected them with the lichtswitch. As the bulbs are all leds now, it shouldn’t harm the circuit…
Now all the lights work. Only the warning lights in the dash don’t (park - brake - door - < - >). The fuses seems ok…
What can be the reason?
Could be the printed circuit board isn’t making good contact or has an issue somewhere. At least on the 69’s they are very easy to break and are kinda touchy…you have to be careful removing the cluster. Maybe you just missed a connector somewhere when you put it back together…?
