Electronic turn signal flasher

I have a new flasher and have not figured out what the extra wire is for on the relay.
It has the two pins for the original socket but it also comes with an extra black wire.
Does the black wire go to 12V?

Not sure I want to experiment with that at this time.

It’s a ground.

Ok, I get NO clicking sound from my NEW flasher module. The orange wire goes to the orange wire on the car and the blue wire goes to the blue wire on the car then the black wire gets grounded. Still no click when I turn on the car and flip the turn signal either way. When I replace this with a flasher unit, I get a clicking sound.

Is it broken?

There is a wire that goes to the connector that was connected to a relay on 67 and 68. You might want to refer to the instructions and see where it goes on your car.

I ran it again with a “better” ground and it works great. Sorry for the misdirection.
