Rear speaker fader. I think that setup is an after market one. I had one in a parts car once. I think the factory one mounted under the dash.
Ok cool thanks. from the pic it kind of looks similar to the factory knobs.
I wonder if it was Hertz ordered?
Does anyone have a better pic of the fader pls
Amazing job - well done
To remind myself Im actually making progress, here’s a pic of the original engine bay / block.
Unfortunately it was too far gone and now replaced with a later square block.
LOL! Yeah, car parts can be larger… err… more expensive than we think sometimes >.>
Out with the old…
Sandblasted and powder coated the front springs, new Koni shocks and Upper/Lower arms,
rebuilt steering box. I am going manual steer rather than refurbishing all of the power steer set up again.
Will see how she drives when I get to that point.
Also looking at other options than running the front lights wiring loom around the left shock tower,
I might try inside the fender to make it look a bit neater.
Here’s a few update pics, the engine is done (gearbox next) I have fitted the side glass and trim and working on the dash. I have the original clock but no camera case material yet.
Glad it is moving forward! Thanks for the update!
Yes, making some progress doing the ‘fun’ job of putting the sunroof back in.
It seems the pins that hold the rear slide to the panel are missing. Im wondering if 2 threaded bolts could be used or not?
Here’s a better shot of new ones, it looks like a pin with a thread on one end.
Does anyone know where you can get something like this?
There are folks in the USA who stock new ones sometimes. I will send you a PM.
Used to be something that you could order from a BMW dealer since they were an option on '70’s BMW / Porsche / many other brands but now it seems the only source is to order them directly from Golde in Germany. Occasionally there are some on eBay.
One step at a time ![]()
Glad you are still moving forward on it! Hopefully someone will have that trim piece you are looking for.
Yep all you can do I guess. Getting all the brakes, driveline and other stuff sorted so will post some more pics when it gets home again,
Finally starting to feel like some progress. Thanks for the on going encouragement Mike. ![]()
You bet! I hope mine is shiny and beautiful again someday ![]()
Yeah…
That is phenomenal… I have been lurking the Aussie Cougars (I am talking cars) on this forum whilst I was trying to get my hands on one… (so two years) I didn’t think I was in a position to comment until I owned one… so here I am… I don’t think mine is never going to be this sorted…
Spectacular.
John
