I’m hearing about quite a few folks having warm and / or dry weather and getting thier cats out for a winter cruise. I had that opportunity this past weekend and took the Eliminator out for a few laps around the neighborhood - it was great! Man, I love driving that car! Hope you are all getting some winter drive time as well!

Ok, I have a little bit of a beef with thier Hemmings description for this car.

Take a look at the Marti Report and tell me what you think of thier statement “This incredible Competition Blue Eliminator is powered by her original numbers matching 351 and 4 speed standard transmission.”




Now, I think this is a good, clean looking car, but it appears to be in the same condition as it appeared in listings from 2008, right down to the mismatched interior and steering wheel. So when they say “It just got done with its extensive frame off restoration”… and " all original, freshly restore Eliminator"… to me that just seems…deceptive. Even aside from the claimed “numbers matching” 4-speed.

This one is a sweet restored '69 CJ / Auto, Bright Yellow, and my understanding from past listings is that it is a numbers matching car, but that should be confirmed, of course. I don’t recall if I mentioned this previously… The owner / seller’s husband passed away about 3 years ago, and now the widow is downsizing her collection. This is one of the cars that she has decided to part with.
It was previously a Hemming Blog “find of the day”, back when it was on eBay in 2010 - which is about when the current owner purchased the car. And pictures can still be seen at the link below. There are also some recent pictures posted at the Facebook link below - really, it looks like it hasn’t aged since the Hemmings pics.
Some local Cougar enthusiasts (Mike and Randy) are helping her get the word out, and weeding out “looky-loo’s”.

*My guess on the “1st made of 27” is that he was told at one time that it is “1 of 27”, and mistook the meaning.
I haven’t been able to narrow this car’s basic combination down to 27, but there were 27 White S-code / Auto Eliminators built.
So I wonder if someone mentioned that to the seller and the number stuck in his head?
