Saw this one today on Hemmings, 70 Competition Orange 428 CJ, C6, 3.50 Rear End, 41500 miles. $140,000

https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/mercury/cougar/2073624.html

Thanks for the tip! I thought I felt a disturbance in the force… LOL!

That is Gordon Nelson’s Eliminator, which was recently featured in Muscle Car Review;

I have seen this car in person when it was in Regina SK for the Majestics Car show back in 2016. The quality of the restoration is very high and there are no obvious problems in terms of parts used.

It was also on “My Car Story” when it was at MCACN back in 2015.

Relisted…

*Original drivetrain and other parts are being offered seperately for more money. Why not bundle it all together and just ask a bit more, like $2.5k starting bid?

In the first part of the listing the engine and trans are $1500 and then later on in the listing he wants $2000 for them. Plus another $1000 for the rear, $800 for the disc brakes and $600 for the power steering. Those numbers seem way out of line to me. Either that or I sell parts too cheap.

CCOA #95

Well, the “351 BIG BLOCK” is definitely worth more money than a regular 'ole 351.

I was thinking the same thing! Also, if the auction pics show the 9" rear end in the car, how can you ask extra money for that??

Here is another one that popped up.

SIGH …I was hoping the next time we saw this one it would be stripped down and on a rotisserie. But no :frowning:

'69 w/ 351, auto (now a 390, 4-speed). Blue Metallic, blue interior. Marti Report. In IA for $9.5k

This one failed to sell in 2016 for $5k. You may recall this was the “Garage Sale” Eliminator from last October, with an ask of around $3k, and we discovered several previous owners in the Eliminator Group on FB (Kenny Bailey, Randy Ballard)! Karl Wollerman’s inspection revealed significant rust, and a 390 engine.

This was also previously owned by Bill Veach (former CCOA Treasurer) in 1981.
