Eliminators on the Market (July 2012)

Been a busy few weeks for me, but I’m making some time to get this updated. Doesn’t seem to be much “new” on the market right now, so I wasn’t in a hurry.

These listings are combed from popular sites (CraigsList, eBay, Hemmings, CarsOnLine, Kijiji, and others). As always, if you know of an Eliminator for sale please feel free to add it to the list. Or if you have any info / details or other general comments about an Eliminator listed here (or elsewhere) please feel free to pass along that info.

I’ve also linked this thread on MC.net, here: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?60570-Eliminators-on-the-Market-(July-2012)

Details and pics in thread posted here: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?60612-1969-Cougar-Eliminator-for-sale

The SS rocker molding looks pretty good on that Eliminator.

Spotted this one today…

'69 Eliminator, no other details. $18k in CA
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/cto/3167916451.html

Got some info from the seller today. Looks like a clone.

VIN: 9R91M504157
65A M 2F 18K 53 6 X

Car is basically a white standard with added scoop and rear spoiler (both black), no stripe, no front spoiler. Interior is now black, but has the wood grain dash bits. Grille is not blacked out.

Mike,

You gettin’ any closer to a four speed car?

Brian

Hey Brian,

Hasn’t been a whole lot on the market lately, so the pickins are kinda slim right now. Still have a lead that I’m dragging my feet on checking out right now ~ been a pretty busy summer. Can’t believe it’s August already!

How goes your “new” car? Will it be back on the road this summer?

Thanks Mike,

Slow process. Work is busy too for me but the front end is off and I’m wet sanding parts of the body. In all honesty that weak paint job that was applied in the early 80’s is coming out great. Nice driver quality with some scratches touched up but it will be very presentable. Next is the engine compartment. It will be cleaned and detailed only because it’s the original paint in very good condition. I am going to try and leave as much originality as I can without it looking like crap. There is no rust on this car except I will have to paint under the battery tray where there is some light surface rust. I am so glad I pulled the trigger on this car! As for the interior I am going to replace the seat covers, headliner and package tray and just a few odds and ends here and there. Gonna do a stroker kit but keep it looking stock and throw in an AOD tranny. That’s it. Next summer is more like it!
Still pullin’ for ya!

Brian

Sounds awesome

You should start a thread in the project or restoration forum and post up some pics and whatnot so we can all follow along.

Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it!

M.
