Missing the car shows, but been having fun working on the Eliminator! Rear end is all painted and ready to go back together. Good thing too, I really miss driving it! Hope you are all staying safe and healthy.

It baffles me how some sellers (dealers), think they can buy a car that has been for sale for a while, year or more in some cases, then add $30K or sometimes more to the previous price let alone what they paid for it and expect it to sell. I guess their marketing skills are that much better… Oh wait some of these cars have ended up selling for less than they sold previously. I realize they are looking for someone with more money than knowledge of the cars, but it doesn’t seem like the smartest business model other than the ego side of look what I have. Seems to be a fair amount of this going on in the Eliminator market. I am sure it is in others too.

I agree, and I’ve often wondered that too. I think what happens is they aren’t really aware of the Eliminators that are on the market, and just how long some of them have been for sale. They see one come up at auction and think they can make a killing on this rare car.

I could see adding a premium for their time and effort, but sometimes their idea of “premium” is just nuts. I could also understand if they actually put some effort into improving the car somehow, but most of them don’t. Jeez, look at that yellow 351 in Texas ~ been through 3 different dealers now and none of them could pop for $2 window crank decals? Come on…

BEWARE OF SCAM LISTINGS!

I’m seeing a lot more scam listings for Eliminators lately. Everyone wants a great deal on an Eliminator, but be careful and do your due diligence!

Stay away from Trovit. This site is full of scams and old expired listings. Stay away from AutoMall for the same reasons ~ LOTS of scam listings!

Also be wary of any cars listed in Cadillac, MI. This is a 3rd party guy who copies other listings, adds a mark-up, and would act as a middle man between you and the owner of the vehicle.

Is it me, or does the blue decor interior in the KTL '70 SCJ Eliminator look like '69 blue decor material? I saw a '70 Eliminator with factory original medium blue deluxe interior and it was a fairly dark blue - looked almost navy blue. Then again, it was a dark garage and I didn’t get pics…

my medium blue interior is a few shades lighter than the dark blue, so I’v been getting dark blue trim for 69 and matches real close more than the med blue.

The KTL 70 SCJ was my car. When we restored it, we removed the standard interior and placed the decor interior in the car instead. Definitely an upgrade and did not retract from the value of the car. the color is spot on correct.
