*The original engine block was previously listed on eBay in 2009 out of KY, and discussed here: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?45983-B2-Eliminator-Block-on-Ebay

Ok, I know I’m not alone when I say I want to save them all. I think cars like this scare people away because they see something that it will require $100k worth of body, paint and parts work to restore it “correctly”. But remember, they do not all need to be brought to concours level in order to enjoy them and consider them saved! Do the work yourself - even it if isn’t top quality - and learn as you go. Buy cheap, non-correct parts that will do the job. Bring it back to driver condition and enjoy cruising in a real G-code Eliminator.

That statement can be taken a couple of ways with this one. Oh man, what a lot of work and missing parts! Also, Oh man, a Boss Eliminator Project car! But I completely agree with your last paragraph, though.

Has anyone seen this car close up? Is the seller’s assessment of the body accurate or optimistic?

Thanks for linking to the thread on the original block. It gives a history that the block was pretty damaged and not likely cost effective to repair. But, does anyone know what ever happened to it? Since it has a known existence as recently as 6 years ago it may be worth owning (even if its not repairable) to whoever ends up with the car.

I shouldn’t even be asking these questions since I can’t be in the market for any new additions right now.

Here is a link to an archive of the previous eBay listing (Apr2013), which I feel had a pretty good description - maybe not thoroughly complete description, but it definitely set the tone for what to expect.

I shouldn’t even be asking these questions since I can’t be in the market for any new additions right now.

I hear ya! I went on a ramble over on the other site… oh if wishes were fishes, and all that
