Just wanted to link up my current thread on MC.net, listing and discussing Cougar Eliminators that are currently on the market for the month of November.
I’m also posting this link on the other thread, so feel free to comment / add / discuss info here.
I keep waiting for that too. My budget is just not quite where it needs to be to get what i want, plus afford all the various resto these cars always seem to need. I can afford to either buy a crusty E-cat, or restore one, but not both :-/
Sadly, when the “good deal” comes along I’m generally not quick enough or local enough to make it happen.
Doesn’t help that the Wife is being stubborn, so it is going to require proper alignment of all the planets and whatnot.
I think my best bet is to try to win the WCCC car. After all, the Wife can’t turn down a car that I win, can she? LOL!
I’m gonna take the 5th on the wife subject Although, it was our 15th anniversary yesterday and I got her a very nice gift. Perhaps that will buy me some leeway on future acquisition attempts
Thanks for the update Tinman. That one is back on eBay today too;
'70 w/ 351, 4-speed (originally 3-speed). Comp orange with black interior (originally “AA” white with black appointments). Marti Report. Located in Ohio.
'70 w/ 428cj (Ram-Air), 4-speed. Comp yellow, black interior. Documented car. Previously listed on ebay (bid up to $25k). Soon to go on Ebay, or Cash + “interesting trade”.
'70 w/ 351, auto (currently a 302, but he has original engine). Comp blue with Sunroof. Charles in OK, $4000
VIN: 0F91?537437 (he read the 5th digit as “11”, and is checking the title later today ~ it should verify as an M, of course). http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2713801643.html
I talked to Charles. He’s had the car for about 2 years, and bought it “out of a barn” where the previous owner had it stored under a tarp. He still has the original engine for the car (351C). The 302 is not currently running but it will fire up if gas is put in the carb. He has a new fuel pump for it and offered to install it if anyone wants to drive the car. Power sunroof is original to the car. No power windows. I asked him about rust and was told the right rear quarter has rust through, but no holes in any other places. Asked him about frame rails and torque boxes and he said “they looked better than I thought they would”. He’s going to send me the VIN and more pictures later today. I’ll pass them on to anyone interested in more pics. I also told him that I was gathering the info to pass along to others.
Price reduction already! Someone needs to go buy this car.
'70 w/351 (currently has a 302 in it, but owner has the original eng), auto. Comp blue, with Sunroof! Non-running, some rust. Charles in OK, $3.5k (negotiable). http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/cto/2713801643.html
*I haven’t received any pics on this one yet.
'70 w/ 428cj (Ram-Air), 4-speed. Comp yellow, black interior. Documented car. Previously listed on ebay (bid up to $25k). Owner looking for Cash + “interesting trade”.
Owner started a thread here: > selling my 70 cj eliminator. | Mercury Cougar Owners> .
Posting deleted already. Wonder if someone got a smokin’ deal, or what. I emailed, but no reply since I didn’t include a call-back number. Was just trying to get a bit more info.
