Eliminators on the Market (October 2014)

Pruned the “Unknown Availability” section and shifted some of the older questionable listings to that section as well.
If you are on Facebook, be sure to check out the Eliminator Owners and Enthusiast page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/473220306059769/

These listings are combed from verious popular sites (CraigsList, eBay, Hemmings, CarsOnLine, Kijiji, and others). As always, if you know of or have an Eliminator for sale please feel free to add it to the list. Or if you have any details or comments about an Eliminator listed here (or elsewhere) please feel free to share that info.

This thread also appears on MC.net, here: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/showthread.php?88482-Eliminators-on-the-Market-(October-2014)

I could use some more data for the Eliminator Production Numbers projects. If you have an Elite Marti Report or a Personalized Statistics Report for an Eliminator, please consider posting it or sending a copy my way.

'70 w/ 428CJ (ram-air), Auto. Competition green, black decor interior. Coming to a no-reserve online auction soon!
West Coast Classic Cougar | Salem OR

Here it is, officially listed!

Holy cow, those pics are awesome! ZOOP! Saved a copy right into my screen saver / desktop wallpaper folder!
Can’t wait to see the video.

Mmm… competition green… mmmm…

Love the 428 Cougar that Don recently listed. Great pictures but lacking pertinent Info on the car. Like Original engine, drive train etc. Also says no rust but one picture shows some bondo cracks. Would be nice to see more info and history on the car rather than opinions on “Most sought after Cougar” and “most popular color”. That’s always a can of worms! All in all, looks like a really nice driver.

Hold your horses guys! Notice the text said watch the video? Video will be posted ASAP and price dropped to $1 no reserve.

I saw this car in person twice, once when it came in and then after they fixed some exterior issues, and it is sharp!

'69 w/ 390, auto. White, black interior. *Sunroof (factory unit, but added later). All doc. In Japan!

Now ‘that’s’ how you advertise a car for sale!
Great pics and excellent description, I learned a lot about Eliminators just watching the video.
Good Luck with the sale Don.

That was a great video (good job, Andrew! :beerchug: )–and very informative. [I’d hate to have Don pick MY Cougar apart like that, lol] Was there a buy-it-now price on the Cougar that went away?

I enjoyed the Video as well. Good detail and information. Love the fact that all documentation from previous owner was kept.

Relisted…

'70 w/ 351, 4-speed. Competition Gold, black interior. Marti report. In MD.

Also relisted at a new price, and now with pictures! Good options list on this one, PS, PB, AC, White Decor interior… Huh, 1 of 34 just by Paint / Trim codes…

Deal of the week?

'69 w/ 351, auto. Bright yellow, black interior. Marti report. In OH for $16.5k
http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/4705908248.html

Looks very clean for the price. Factory AC car (although it has been removed), console, power windows, PS, PB.
Listing says it has a 351C in it currently ~ picture appears to be a Cleveland, so non-matching engine.

One more thing to look at, why does it have a 1970 tilt column in it??? as well as the P/S pump bracket is a mid 70s item. But it does look good…

Mike Johns is selling both of his competition blue '70 CJ Eliminators. He told me it was ok to post mention of it on the Cougar forums while he puts together an ad for them.

'70 w/ 428cj (ram-air), Auto. Competition blue, Houndstooth interior. Numbers matching. Marti report. In Utah.
*virtually unmolested when he bought it. All original sheet metal except for a NOS front fender.

'70 w/ 428cj (ram-air), Auto. Competition blue, black standard interior. Correct replacement engine. Marti report. In Utah.

They are practically twin cars, built on the same day.

He told me he is selling them due to lack of interest on his part. He hasn’t shown them in years and he thinks they should go to a new owner that will appreciate them and do something with them. He is hoping to sell them together since they both have the same build date. I asked him if he had an idea of what he wanted for them and he threw out $175,000 for the pair, but he admits that it is something that is hard to price and he is looking for someone who is seriously interested in the pair.

Mike’s email is: cougman427 (at) gmail.com

New listing…

*Factory AC car, but it has been removed.

Just spotted this one… and yes, I did send the links to SeanInSD already

'70 w/ Boss 302, 4-speed. Competition Blue, black standard interior. SUPER DRAG-PAK. Mecum auction (Lot#: R225), Kissimmee, FL, Jan 16th-25th, 2015
http://www.autabuy.com/Vehicles/Details.cfm?VID=1968902
http://content.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=FL0115-204125

Now listed on eBay with a $5k starting bid, and a bit of eye candy

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131323133333?forcerRptr=true&item=131323133333&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:SS:SS:US:3160

I like them both!

I found this picture to be a bit confusing. Maybe it’s just me but I see no Cougar in it:

Yeah, she looks too young to be calling her a cougar.

It was brought to my attention that this one slipped past me! I had it listed in “unknown availability”, but Chris updated his CraigsList ad a while back and I neglected to update my post.
Chris’ E-cat may be a better deal than the yellow '69, but it will take some work. Very rare color combo and a great list of options! This would make a great project - solid start, and a 351 car so parts are plentiful.
