Eliminators on the Market (October 2018)

Am I the only one in denial about it being Fall already? I was away for vacation the tail end of August and into the middle of September, so I figured I’d just let it slide and just do the October update on time for a change. Get in those cruises while you can (if you still can, weather being what it is).

As always, if you know of an Eliminator for sale or are looking for an Eliminator, please feel free to post here, or contact me. I’ll do my best to help you find the Eliminator you are looking for, or help find a new home for your Eliminator, if possible. Send me a PM or email me directly at: EliminatorSearch@CougarClub.org

Also, be sure to check out the Eliminator Owners and Enthusiast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/473220306059769/

Don’t be shy about commenting or asking about a car in the list. Folks here are always happy to help answer questions or concerns.

that one in MN for 13.5k I’v e-mailed him twice and got nothing back.

I was just re-looking at that one in MN. Interior looks good except for the drivers seat. What is the likelihood of getting that re-upholstered without having to do all of the seats to match? I know nothing about seat repair. Cost to do that??

As of 2 weeks ago, this car was no longer available. I stopped in at Just Toys Classic Cars to inquire about it and was told it was shipped out around the beginning of September. I asked why it was still listed on their website and they told me it was left on there just to get people to come in. :unamused:

Good to know! Thanks Bryan!

the one in MN still there. for 13.5k

I can’t believe that! Maybe a picky seller? I understand he’s a bit difficult to get in touch with, so I bet it will take someone actually going and meeting him in person, seeing the car in person, and sealing the deal.

Saw some more pics of it on FB ~ looks fairly solid. Touch of rust in the wheel well lips, maybe some pin holes in the floor - but maybe not - it doesn’t look bad.

Ok, this one has been on my “Mystery” list for a long time. Michelle inherited the car from her father, who used to race it. He was also in the CCOA long ago. Michelle has run in to some life troubles and has to sell her Eliminator…

VIN unknown.

  • I do have pictures of this car from when it was still in Comp Yellow, and it had many of the proper Eliminator hallmarks - but still do your due dilligence!

He definitely can be a bit slow to respond to email. I contacted the seller when it first came on the market. It has some rust issues where you would expect it. The seller also sent me an additional set of pictures (which is covered in the Facebook post). It also has been in what appears to be a fairly minor (hard to tell for sure) fender bender. The rear of the driver’s quarter panel is wrinkled and bent at the end cap area where it appears the bumper pushed into the sheet metal. The bumper is noticably bent and and has been pulled back into shape. The collision also damaged the rear valance. The gaps are really off (especially when you compare to the passenger side). The bumper is out of alignment on both sides.

If someone wants a lower quality driver it appears to be a decent car. However, if someone has designs on restoring it - there’s a lot of potential sheetmetal work to do which you won’t see until you strip it down to metal which could outstrip the value of the car after a complete / rotisserie restoration. I attached a couple of pictures to make it easier see the fender bender.

69 Eliminator 390 4 speed estate auction. I’ve known this car since brand new. Tried to purchase over the years owner was always going to restore it and of course never did. Just not in my in my plans and future now to bid on it. Sat outside till mid 80’s then shared a garage with cats and windows were down cats in and out of it Moved to a pole barn late 80’s away from cats was put on jack stands. Pole barn developed leak in roof and a gaping hole right above car. Right side window was out of track and in back seat for years. Hood and trunk open while sitting.Engine frozen. Center grille section broken.Rear spoiler replaced early 70’s ? Warranty card was in glove box , was first titled in owners Mothers name. As far as I know never any accidents. I have seen a basic Marti Report verifying it is legit but as I said I’ve Known this car since new , My dad had a Sunoco station and I recall Him repairing the Rim Blow Horn. The owner lived 2 doors away from us. Hope this can find a good home.

Last I saw car was late spring last year , Pictures appear that interior has been cleaned best they could for auction.

Whoof, rough one! Lot’s of discussion on this in the FB group (Redirecting...)

Has me thinking though… given condition perhaps one could get it at a very low cost? And I mean very low… home to cats (piss), frozen engine, non-original rear spoiler, rot…
Oddity of an auction site (mom and pop feel) - may not get noticed by “flippers”
Auctioneer says they will accept max bids by folks not in person and will contact bidders by phone if bid is down to last 2 bidders.

So… what would your max bid be? Can this be had for $2k, $5k, above 10k?

Maybe the cats kept the mice out of it.

Story on the replacement spoiler was car vandalized while owner in U.S. Army , assume but at that point in time would have been a factory /dealer replacement probably no after market ones at that time? Warranty card I have seen and it was the mothers name , also have seen title transferring from Mother to son. I have Known this car since I was 8 always Orange exterior and white interior. Does not have side pipes now but my memory wants to say at one time it did but last i was under car it has duels with H pipe I think.

Don’t know when undercoat applied but deceased owner told me he did it a can at a time.

Ha!

Pretty sure this is Dan Houde’s car. I remember this came up on Ebay about the week after I bought my (since sold) comp green Eliminator 15+ years ago.
I like the hounds tooth interior.

the one in MN for 13.5k. the last e-mail I got he suppose to have a buyer from Fla. until Michael hit and he was waiting on a response?

I like the no reserve on it… definitely “watching”. Any past history on this one; anyone ever lay eyes on it?
