I was at Auctions America on Sunday and looked over the Eliminator. It didn’t sell on Saturday and I don’t know what the bid got up too. I don’t think it got very high as their just wasn’t the heavy hitters money people at this auction. use to be a huge auction when Kruse ran it. They had a still for sale price of $140,000 on the Eliminator. Looking the Cougar over he should have took the $110,000 at the last auction. To get it into the price range they are asking it really needs re-done and the correct block installed. The paint and interior looked nice and presentable yet, but the underside, suspension and drivetrain looked tired and not up to the condition to be asking that kind of money for it. Really needs to sell around $90,000 to $100,000 then the next owner could just freshen up the drivetrain, underside and suspension install the correct block and have about another $20,000 into the Eliminator. Then money could be made as that would put it into the $140,000 range and the Eliminator would be way nicer and more correct again. I was surprised that being a 1970 W code drag pak Eliminator and it doesn’t have power brakes :open_mouth:
On a positive note a lot of people were looking at it, and it was getting lots of attention. Good to see the general public appreciating the Cougar.

Thanks for the update and pictures Brian, I appreciate them!

On a related note, last night someone posted on the Boss 302 forum that he has found the VIN stamped transmission for 0F91G544281 in Nebraska (where this car spent much of its life)! I wonder how a complete numbers matching drivetrain will affect the future value of this car.

~ I sent Dave Wyrwas and Randy Ream an email to make sure they saw this post so they can hopefully put him in touch with the current owner.

Found 544281 Transmission If the registar can let the owner know

There is post from a long time ago discussing the cougar this trans belongs in. Its been found in Nebraska.
Thanks
'70 Boss Eliminator in Nebraska
shelby-mustang@hotmail.com

Oh, 0F91G544281 had a high bid of only $60k.

The transmission in Nebraska is from the comp gold car above? Quite a coincidence.

Yes! It was a Nebraska car for a long time, so the location is really no suprise. Interesting that the Block showed up a few years ago too. Phil Parcells was able to get in touch with the current owner of the car and direct him to the fellah on the Boss forum. So 0F91G544281 will probably soon be a numbers matching Super Drag Pak Boss 302 Eliminator again!

Quite a bit of repair and restoration history discussed on the Boss forum, so it probably will not ever bring as much as cars with all original sheet metal. But having matching numbers again is certainly a step in the right direction.

Heck, I’d store the VIN stamped stuff and just drive the car the way it sits

Relisted at a lower price…
