Engine Compartment Wiring

Hello all. Would someone please help me figure out what these engine compartment plugs route to? It’s a 1970 xr7. I lost all of my pre-disassemble pictures.

There are 3 plugs.

Green wire/black plug is AC compressor
Blue wire/white plug is throttle position solenoid on carburetor
Three terminal connector feeds the engine harness - red/white stripe is engine temp, white/red stripe is oil pressure, pink and brown wires feed the coil ‘bat’ terminal.

Thank you. Is there another harness that plugs into the three prong connector? I must be missing it if there is.

This is the one for a 1970 351C.

Awesome I apreciate the help.

Is it a different harness if the car has a rev limiter?

For the engines that used a rev limiter, it plugged in between the bullet connectors on the existing engine harness, and posts on the coil. So no difference in engine harness with rev limiter that I am aware of.

The harness is different depending on the engine as the leads are different lengths. Examples are that the oil pressure sender on a 351 Cleveland is at the rear of the block in the center directly behind the intake, whereas on a Windsor the oil sender is by the fuel pump on the front driver’s side.

The rev limiter does not affect the harness.

I got the gauge feed wiring hooked up but have a red wire with green stripe that i don’t know where it goes. It has a yellow plug type connector. Possibly this is the one that goes to bat side of coil? Also, I’ve found homes for just about all of the other wires except i have two wires for the altnator and i thought it was supposed to have a harness. I’ve attached a couple pictures. Apreciate the assist

Yup, the red w/green stripe and yellow plug connects to “bat” terminal of coil. The alternator would have originally had a harness that plugged into a blue connector that connected to the harness pictured. So it’s hard to know say how to connect those wires, but the heavy black wire originally went to alternator “bat” terminal and the orange one went to alternator “fld” terminal.

Craig, thank you. Great help. So I assume that the Blue wire/white plug for the throttle position solenoid on carburetor is not used, since I do note have a noticeable connection for it on the carburetor?

Correct. Mine doesn’t have the throttle position solenoid or AC, so neither the black nor the blue single wire bullet connectors at firewall are used on mine. They just hang there unused.

Using the Oreillly website it took about 15 seconds to find this:

It’s about twice the price of the examples on eBay.
