Ok, so pardon the general ignorance, but ive got a 1970 cougar with a 351c 2bbl carb. Ive only had it for a few months and the more I mess with it the more I want to make sure all the wires, lines, and the like are in the proper places or places that make sense.

Ive looked in the maintenence manuals and a few online diagrams. Is there something out there that will give me some clarity on what is what and where is goes in the bay?

Im more or less figuring it out as I go between wiring diagrams and such, but Im wondering if the hive mind has a better solution.

If you are looking for a visual representation of what should go where, and how things looked from the factory, one of the best ways is look at unrestored original vehicles and concours restored cars. Besides searching the internet and taking pics at car shows, I sometimes check out parts sites like WCCC, Dead Nuts On, Anghel Restorations, and the like.

They can provide a lot of insight as well as showing many original photos.

Hi !
For me the most accurate documentation that I found is the assembly manual ,I didn’t found any for the 1970 but 1969 engine assy manual should greatly help you.(Assembly Manual - Engine Equipment - Ford Products - Repro ~ 1969 Mercury Cougar / 1969 Ford Mustang ( 1969 Mercury Cougar, 1969 Ford Mustang ) at West Coast Classic Cougar :: The Definitive 1967 - 1973 Mercury Cougar Parts Source).
