Anybody ever export a Cougar (any classic car actually) for personal use to Europe? Looking for any advice.
When I finish mine, I want to take it with me on a very long holiday and grand tour of Europe.
BTW. I’m forging ahead but nothing interesting to share just lots of finishing of inner rocker and floor panel plug welding. I should never have put off the grinding. Boring…… and hard on patience.
We moved to England for 3 years in early 2000s courtesy of the military, so I was exempt from some of the requirements. I had to modify our vehicle to conform to some of the existing vehicle requirements (rear fog light, change turn signals, etc.), having a vehicle inspection, and local registration.
Requirements are probably impacted by the country, length of stay, citizenship, etc.. Classics may be exempt from certain vehicle mods.
You’ll probably need to work with a company that specializes in this. Being a U.S. citizen vs of a European country will also drive what you can or can’t do.
