Extra work to repair leaks

Can’t figure out why anyone would take the time and effort to cut a bad roof out, get another one, then (for lack of a better word) halfass it back on.

I just planned on fixing a rusted out cowl, instal a new headliner, and replace the front and rear windshield seals.

Now I’m (not) looking forward to doing a complete roof job.

Oy vey…

That is a real bummer.

Holy crap. You’d need a complete donor roof skin and a good body guy to salvage that. I had some help, but went through a roof replacement on my '68. This video I did may provide some insight on what’s involved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDyBd9Wx1vk
(Forgive the terrible acting)

Drilling out spot welds is pretty straightforward, and I could handle that myself, but there is some finesse needed here and there. Best of luck to ya! Let us know what you end up doing.

Well, still working on the roof and cowl. Not to mention the rear windshield opening. I’ve been taking picture as much as I can remember to. I should be able to do a photo timeline of this nightmare when I’m done. I’ve also taken this time to add the factory AC into the car while I had the cowl ripped apart.

Kudos for taking the time to do it right. Look forward to seeing the photos.
