Very sad story of a man dying in his 1968 Cougar. Showed my son this article to remind him…our vintage Cougars are pretty much no match for modern cars in a wreck…drive with care.
The Taunton, MA paper had a few additional, odd details–
"Raynham Police Chief James Donovan said the crash was nearly, but not technically, a head-on collision. A photo taken of the two vehicles shows the Cougar’s front end intact but its driver’s side door caved in.
Donovan said it was not immediately clear whether Moore or King was driving the small SUV, despite both being found inside the vehicle."
"Brian D. Spillane, age 42, of East Taunton, formerly of Brockton, died unexpectedly August 15, 2014, following an automobile accident. Brian was the beloved son of Edward J. and Ann (Dolan) Spillane. Born and raised in Brockton, Brian was a 1991 graduate of Brockton High School and was a longtime employee of Sullivan Tire in West Bridgewater. Brian was an accomplished drummer and classic car enthusiast. He also enjoyed photography, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. I don’t think that Brian Spillane was a member of the Cougar Club of New England, but we’re waiting to hear back on that from our membership director. I do know I never met him at any club events. Still, it’s a sad story for all concerned.
