Fender apron replacement 1967

I’m about to replace both front framerails, complete with shock towers and fender aprons. It’s a 67, so no dash vin tag. Any advice on how to handle grafting the vin atampings over to the new aprons? Documentation?

I’ve called the Oklahoma Agency responsible for registering and titleing cars, but that was less than informative.

I would just cut the old one out and weld it into the new piece. If you want to be safe, get in touch with the State Police and show them what’s up, they usually have an inspector for that purpose.
