Finally back.

It’s been 5 long years…I didn’t post a whole lot when I was one here before but, anytime I had a question. Everyone was more than happy to jump in. 5 yrs ago I finished a restoration on a 68 Lime Frost XR7 J code dark ivy interior and I was extremely proud of it. I unfortunately had to sell that car almost immediately because I was transferred to Hawaii (active Navy) I know. Don’t feel sorry for me lol.

I’ve regretted selling that car every single day. Well, I’m 2yrs from retirement and I’ve bounced around from a 2015 GT to a 2016 GT350 and most recently a 1993 Lighting. Nothing scratched that itch. I have since found my way back to the PNW and happened to be checking out craigslist and lo behold. Another 68 Lime Frost XR7 J code dark ivy. I could believe my eyes. No way I was letting this get by. This one is a little more rough than my previous starting point but, hey no real rust so I can’t complain. Poor thing has been off the road since a little fender bender in 1997. It’ll take me a few years just like the last one but, I’m in it for the long haul.

Last two pics are from my previous build.

Welcome back! Looks like you’ve got yourself a pretty good new project for restoration. Glad you were able to rescue this car and will give it new life.

Nice pickup on that J code. I saw the Craigslist ad and thought it looked like a nice project for someone. I hope we get to see how it comes together.

Top one looks more like Augusta green. Great color in my opinion.

I have a lot of paperwork from over the years. Looks like it had a repaint in 1979. It’s an original Lime Frost car.
