Flying hoods

So I had this amazing moment today. It was just brilliant. I forgot to latch my hood today. Pulled out and hit about 55 and that thing stood straight up. Luckily didn’t go through my windshield. The hinges held it on. But it absolutely desroyed the hinges and the hood. I was able to sledge hammer it all sorta straight so I could put it together for now. But does anyone know where I could find a new hood for a 70 xr7???

this was before I banged it all out

Where are you? Someone close might have one

Hood up… my fear… Lucky man you did’nt hurt yourself nor anybody else!

1+ I always have that fear as well… I like hood pins, correct or not!

I am always looking at my hood when I drive just looking for any vibration or movement.
Check with Don and the guys at WCCC, I am sure they have a hood. Also watch Craigslist and maybe go poking around local junkyards or pick-n-pulls. Good luck and glad no one was hurt.

Sorry to hear this happened. At least you were not hurt. The hood is not easy to find a good one. If your good with welding sheet metal a lightly rusty one may work for you if priced correctly. While I have 2 extra 70 hoods they both are junk.

Been there,done that😥

I have two Grade A hoods just north of Ann Arbor, MI 248-867-3522

Correction…Mine are 67/68 hoods. Looks like you have a 69 car.
