Fond farewell

Well, as I’ve mentioned in other posts, I’ve not had much time for The Heap, and have been looking at developing other interests, and life changes. With that being said, I have come to an agreement with another CCCF member, to part ways with my car. I have enjoyed it as much as I can, and it’s time. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all that contributed to The Heap’s progress, all the assistance, advice, ribbing, and yes, even the azz-hattedness(you know who you are) over the last several years. It was truly a fun project, I learned a ton.

I may post up every now and again, just to see what you jokers are up to, but for now, bon voyage!

(I do not know if the new owner of The Heap will become more active here, or not, but please welcome him with open arms, should he decide so. I talked all you guys up extensively. Ok. Maybe not ALL of you.)

Sincerely,

T3

Happy trails. May each new venture be increasingly awesome. Sad to see ya go, but it’s probably for the best, it was starting to smell kinda funky in here anyway

Are you still going to be at the Curb?

I think the male bovine excretum monitor just went off the scale

You didn’t buy a Camaro did you?

I’ve heard rumors that Lil’ Mo wants a classic (gasp) Mustang for his first car, but so far there has been no room in the garage.
I am hoping that Mo is not looking at the dark side.
:eek2:

I’ll say you learned A TON! I remember what you started with, and where you went with it BEFORE asking for assistance. :poke:

But no one will argue with what the end result turned out to be.

:beerchug: Here’s hoping you put all that knowledge to good use on the Camaro, Mustang, “Brokeback” Fox Cougar or whatever the next project ends up being.

Geez, Mo. Who is going to brighten my day on “Boom!” thread??

Happy trails to you.

Good luck, Mo! I look forward to seeing you back here from time to time.

You don’t have to have a Cougar to hang out here. And the stain runs pretty deep so don’t be surprised if you start lusting after another Cougar. What ever happens, thanks for everything and best of luck in all you do.

Have a good time with your next adventure, and don’t be afraid to pop back in here occasionally to stir things up!

T3!! I’ll miss ya here, but will see ya on FB & in the funny papers. Regards.

It’s almost like a foreign language that I don’t understand. Let me get this straight… It is possible to sell a Cougar that you have purchased? This can happen? Me no habla…

I have heard of this. Late at night when the old people gather to talk… I always thought it was a legend, but the old ones swore it had really happened…

Mutha-effin-trucka…so. Long story longer…some TOOL from 'round here parts, makes me an offer I CANNOT refuse for The Heap…like, stoopit money…(ok, maybe not Gunner STOOPIT, but, 68 STD resto-mod stoopit), so, being at a point where I might could care less about the Cougar than I should…I agree…with a 10%, NON-refundable, deposit(in writing/signed/notarized, and I hang on to the car/title)…with the balance due in two weeks. Well, guess what??? It’s been 2+ weeks, and I don’t have the REST of my money!!! Haven’t heard a peep from the buyer for about a week.

So…deposit the cash, and tell him to eff off(per contract)…or wait him out for the rest???

Regardless, looks like I’m “Hangin’ with the Cougars” for a while longer…

I would give the buyer a chance to finish the deal. But regardless I would keep his deposit if that is what your contract calls for. It does make it hard to finish the deal though if the buyer is not returning your phone calls, texts, emails, or whatever method of communication you are using. If the buyer lives close by I would make a trip to see him/her in person. You never know, there might be a good reason for the lack of communication.

Keep the deposit. If he really offered stupid money, he has probably done some research and come to his senses over the last couple of weeks.

Maybe his wife put the kibosh on the deal.

Ya, there could be a good reason why they are not getting back to you. I find it is always good to put a date on a deal like this. That way if they don’t come back by that date, you are free and clear to sell to somebody else at that time. If you are able to leave a message on their phone then explain you at least need to know if they are ending the deal or just delayed. if you can’t leave a message on the phone and you know where they live, put a letter in an envelope explaining you have to proceed to sell the car, by such and such date if they do not contact you. Keep a copy for yourself and mail it to them in such a way that they have to sign for it. You now have proof they got the letter and you are free to do what you need to.

Ok, I gave it the time I was willing to, beyond contractual agreement. Zman apparently has hit the nail on the head. FINALLY got in touch with jackwagon “buyer”(sorry, but I didn’t move on buying it in the first place until I had eternal roommate’s permission).

Here was the “deal”:

Dude offered me 20k, cash(stupid money for my car, IMO), 10% non-refundable down, all in writing. So, buyer brings me 2k in cash, I keep title, and car, until final payment. Pretty standard, I’d say. Obligatory time goes by, not a peep. I’m not getting into a panic, since I don’t really NEED to sell. Post here a few times, wait another week or so.

Buyer finally gets in touch. “Dude, I’m SOOOO sorry, but I can’t buy it! My wife went off like a rocket on me!..any way I can get that deposit back???” HA! NO! TOOL! (see your signed and notarized contract, buddy) Still wondering if I’ll hear from him on that again. That’s not just change lying around, in my neck of the woods, for most.

So, apparently, Mrs. wears the big boy britches(whose doesn’t…), I’m 2k on the plus side, and I still have a Cougar. Wasn’t really looking to sell, but, he hit me at a weak/right moment.

So! I guess you schlepps(meant in the best of ways) are stuck with me a while longer…

Now. What do I do with 2k in fun money!?!! Vintage Air?

Ugh…guess I should learn to distinguish betwixt a tire kicker, and a real buyer???
