I saw this on eBay and I thought it was pretty cool. Richard Petty Ford Torino Give-Away Car.
Steven
Interesting car and story, I did not see any of the actual promotional literature, or vintage photos.
Kevin Marti only says that this car is one of 111 special paint Torino GT cars, ordered through the Charlotte District.
Like they say, “Extraordinary claims, need extraordinary documentation”.
Like he said great story…but it has been making the rounds like a classic internet spoof. Very interesting to go back in time on the internet searches to see what popped up:
Current:

Back Story #1:

Hmm, what’s this from 2010:

Same car? Perhaps inspired from the following show appearance?
This appears to be a photo of an 427 Petty Paint Job:

A Concours unit:

Cool car anyway, but the story seems sketchy.
A slot car version of the paint scheme omits the Torino Cobra and shows 429 on the hood:

It really makes you wonder. It might be real it might not. Like you said documents for extraordinary cars with rare claims is paramount for the big dollar sale.
