Frame stamps, or other VIN verification locations?

I got into a somewhat animated conversation with one of my mopar buddies, about production dates, sales dates, numbers matching, etc…But it brought up a good question-Are there other frame VIN stamps on a 67 Cougar? I’ve seen the drivers fender, the RF radiator support, of course the drivers door, But are there other partial VIN or identifying numbers stamped into/onto the frame?

Nope there are none.

Ouch…So then all the cars that are rebuilt on “graveyard cars”- do they count as restored, or rebodied? Kind of a similar conversation we had on the board about the Fast Eddy Boss nine car. Is it restored, or rebodied? I Think there is a red GT-E, that was restored, and people keep knocking it as a rebody. I understand a clone, or a really good tribute isn’t the same thing, but at what point do you have a firm line to draw?

You asked about '67 Cougar VIN locations - there are none other than the two stamped forward inner fenders. Don’t know about anything on Graveyard Cars those are Mopars.

Two forward fender stamps? Do you mean the top of the drivers side fender, AND the buck tag, or is there a second stamped fender panel?

The VIN is usually stamped on the top of the fender aprons on both the left and right side. Some early 67s have the buck tag sandwiched between the upper and lower cowl panels. It was later moved to the front of the radiator support.

Both left and right inner fenders - forward of the shock tower - are stamped with the VIN. Some late 1967’s may have a buck tag affixed by a screw to the radiator support but that is not what you asked.

My body buck tag, built 4/25/67, was pop riveted, on the radiator core support.
