Front disc brakes won’t release 1970 base

1970 base cougar convertable 351c.

Brakes are Wilwood disc on front and original drum on the back. Power brakes. Brand new front rubber lines. No pinched areas in either front brake lines

Front brakes don’t release properly after pushing pedal. Rear brakes do release.

I loosened the bleeder screw on left front and immediately both left and right front brakes released. Both front wheels were free wheeling.

Stepped on brake pedal and front brakes again would not release. Dragging on rotor.

Because it has new front rubber brake lines, fairly new wilwood calipers and both front brake release when bleeder screw on one caliper is opened, I am tending toward a bad master cylinder.

Any thoughts or advise???

Thanks

check the proportioning vale make sure its centered, also was the car an original disc / drum brake car. you may want to watch WCCC video #156

The rod pushing inside the master cyl is not the correct length. Its not allowing the pressure to be released.

Would that not cause all 4 brakes to drag and not just the front ones

Thanks shortyB
