Fully Restored 69 Cougar Grille

For Sale: Fully restored 1969 Cougar Grille. This grille is plug-and-play, in other words; it is ready to go, just pop it in and plug in your wiring! Almost all of the pieces were taken from an Arizona car and a few pieces were taken from a southwestern car from WCCC. The entire grille was chemically stripped, and then re-plated with a copper, nickel, and chrome triple platting process. The areas that were to remain chrome, were masked off, and then the rest of the grille was lightly media blasted for proper adhesion. The grille was then cleaned, masked off again, and then painted satin black where needed. The headlight buckets were chemically stripped; lightly media blasted, and then painted gloss black. New headlight retaining springs, adjusting screw assemblies, and hardware was installed. Original Ford retaining rings were used after they were cleaned and polished. Original used FoMoCo scripted high beam headlights were used along with original old school GE low beam headlights, which perfectly match the used high beam headlights except they don’t have the FoMoCo inscription, as all four have the same General Electric raised inscription. Unfortunately I could not find good used FoMoCo scripted low beam headlights, but these accurately match the high beam headlights. The headlight door bushings were replaced and good used actuating shafts, which came off of a car with 33,000 original miles that spent over 20 years disassembled and in storage, were properly restored with a phosphate and oil process like they were originally done. The headlight doors were stripped and painted the same satin black as the rest of the grille. The center grille emblem piece was re-chromed, properly repainted where needed, and a new reproduction Mercury decal was inserted. The Cougar corral and cat on the passenger side were stripped and re-chromed, a new black foil was inserted, and the assembly was then re-installed into the passenger side eyelid cover. I am asking $4,400 for the entire grille assembly, which includes shipping to any of the lower 48 states with a normal shipping address. A core is not required. If you have any questions or would like additional photos, please send me a private e-mail. Thank you.
