Any good parts store that mixes paint and deals with body shops should have no problem mixing your color. And many of those parts stores are also able to put your color in a spray can for you.
Following. I have the same color that needs touch ups (various spots, varying levels of discoloration or damage) but have been told by two body shops that it won’t match very well due to the materials in modern paints. They perhaps didn’t want to take the project on but I think a reasonable color match will work. My car has a vinyl roof with some pillar rust so a full repainting probably makes more sense when repairing that samage. Not sure how much that will run but it’ll keep the spirit on my Dad’s 66 Montclair with the same colors going.
Original Ford paint is a single-stage paint, the current paints are all two-stage. Basecoat with a clear coat. Most states because of the Nazi EPA have made manufactures change paint formulas to the point that the new formulas don’t match. The Acapulco blue on my Shelby was just one of those.
Most of the manufacturers just didn’t look the same. It was a dull lifeless color sprayed out. R-M and PPG were the closest and had the flip-flop in different lighting.
It’s ridiculous what paint products cost. Just the base coat and the clear was almost 2,000.00 in PPG.
Maaco used to use acrylic enamel. Many states have banned certain paints. I wish you luck. If they did the paint, they should be able to provide a pint or so at additional cost.
