Grecian gold colored paint

I can’t find this exact color anywhere in the auto parts store or on Amazon.

What other types of paint or color codes are identical to this?

Is there a general motors color that matches this exactly?

(You can get anything for GM vehicles)

Either a spray can or just liquid paint in a jar is fine.

I’m willing to purchase an airbrush if necessary.

I have 3 areas that need to be touched up on the side of the vehicle.

Any good parts store that mixes paint and deals with body shops should have no problem mixing your color. And many of those parts stores are also able to put your color in a spray can for you.

The CCOA website has a lot of great links Cougar Club of America - Tech Library

One of the links offered is to an amazing site that has the paint details for most cars.

It’s different from any generic motors color. Even different brands or batches of the same brand are different from each other.

If you are trying to match something on a car, have it color scanned at any good automotive paint store. Otherwise anything that you do won’t match.

I have 3 trouble areas to fix, just temporarily before visiting MAACO to get it freshened up.

The car already has a few areas that were touched up previously so it’ll be okay.

Thanks for the codes. I think I can find these on Amazon.

Amazon had a brand I never heard of, but it said it was Grecian gold code Y so…

We’ll see.

Following. I have the same color that needs touch ups (various spots, varying levels of discoloration or damage) but have been told by two body shops that it won’t match very well due to the materials in modern paints. They perhaps didn’t want to take the project on but I think a reasonable color match will work. My car has a vinyl roof with some pillar rust so a full repainting probably makes more sense when repairing that samage. Not sure how much that will run but it’ll keep the spirit on my Dad’s 66 Montclair with the same colors going.

Original Ford paint is a single-stage paint, the current paints are all two-stage. Basecoat with a clear coat. Most states because of the Nazi EPA have made manufactures change paint formulas to the point that the new formulas don’t match. The Acapulco blue on my Shelby was just one of those.
Most of the manufacturers just didn’t look the same. It was a dull lifeless color sprayed out. R-M and PPG were the closest and had the flip-flop in different lighting.
It’s ridiculous what paint products cost. Just the base coat and the clear was almost 2,000.00 in PPG.

That’s why MAACO really needs to freshen up the paint & give me a container of exactly the batch they used should touchups be needed later.

They do use regular enamel like they did years ago as one of their more affordable paint types.

Maaco used to use acrylic enamel. Many states have banned certain paints. I wish you luck. If they did the paint, they should be able to provide a pint or so at additional cost.

I just got it from Amazon, even says code Y on the can. I’m going to wait for the weather to warm up or a very warm day to try it.

Did you ever try the gold paint you got off of amazon?
