Ground strap

I’m wondering if my 69 351 would have come from the factory with a block to chassis ground strap bolted on the right cylinder head to the firewall. I’m not having any electrical problems just wondering if this strap should be there.

Yes, it should have a ground strap.

It mounts on the passenger side head at the rear and bolts to the firewall.

Thanks for the replies. There doesn’t seem to be a bolt hole on the firewall near where I would have espected. There is a dimple above the hoses on the curved part of the firewall. Could this be the correct location and a PO filled it in?

I’m not 100 % sure, but if I recall correctly in 69 the ground strap bolts to one of the studs sticking out thru the firewall that holds the heater housing.

On my '69, there is a dedicated sheet metal bolt for the ground strap just above the heater hose grommet/bezel (AC car). Here is a pic during Isabel’s assembly:

Yeah, but you just kind of slapped your car back together, Bob. There’s no telling if that’s legit or not.

WCCC lists a strap for a 67-68 but does not seem to have one for a 69.
I believe the 70s had a ground clip in the neg battery cable. My firewall has a 3/16"+/- hole where Bob has his strap attached.
I’m thinking I might connect a strap there also.
