Group II Shelby COUGAR lettered small block intake manifold S2MS-9424-A

We have not had one of these in stock since 2009! This one is the cleanest I have ever seen, removed from car 35 years ago so says the retired machinist I bought it from. Check the reward points you have accrued from our site, this could be under your tree for Christmas!

LOL! Too rich for my blood… I don’t know what seems crazier, $2655.77 for the manifold, or that some one might have 212461 unused Cougar points? But where are you going to find another one!

I am so glad I got mine from a fellow Fordnutz club member who only wanted what he had into the one he sold me. I bought it for less than a grand. There’s one that pops up on E-bay every once in a while, but it is in poor condition and probably would not function on a car. Would be nice garage art, but not for what it is listed for.
I can definitely see your price point on this Don. They are like hen’s teeth. In reality, if you really want a very nice fully functional original Cougar scripted intake manifold made by Shelby (with a Shelby part number) you had better jump when one becomes available, and, inevitably, it is going to cost you some big bucks to get it.
Congratulations to whoever buys this ultra rare piece of Cougar gold.

Buying it and holding on to it for 5 years might pay off better than current CD rates! LOL

Wow those are cool and rare! Too rich for my blood but I’m sure someone will be happy to have that! It sure is clean too! Looks almost brand new

That is a cool Cougar item. It is in awesome condition compared to the one that is always on eBay.

If only you had layaway Don!

Actually we do! I only increased the price $200 from the last one we sold in 2009. IIRC it took about 3 months for that one to sell on our site. We are trying to get this part reproduced and if we are successful it will probably be better quality at a fraction of this price.

How about a 351 W version as well?

A 428 version would completete the line???

Should I ask if you can do one for an LS?

A 390, 428, and 427. Plus the 351C version if wanting to cover all classic year engines.

The other ideas would not be a reproduction but rather a new part. If we can make this one fly we will crunch the numbers and see if a more expensive, less in demand renditions would make sense but my guess is not.

If they do it right, they would modifications to existing products. The Buddy Bar casting system used an interchange plate that could say Cougar or Cobra.

And that is exactly what they are doing, modifying the COBRA intake to say COUGAR. Doing a 351c intake is not going to be so easy.

They also did a Holman Moody intake.

That intake would definitely make a Cougar special. Of course, I didn’t even pay that much for the entire car …

I went to look at the 6V version of the 289 - 302 Cougar intake in 1975. It was complete with carbs and linkage. Guy wanted $450 for it. I was making $129 a week take home. No way to make it happen then.

This one might look expensive but where else are you going to find one?

BTW I will take trades on this item if it makes it easier, you can also take as long as you need to pay.

We all have a “one that got away” story. Mine is regarding this intake. Back in the early 1980’s just after I bought my first Cougar (a 1967), I went to a swap meet. Some guy had a small speed shop there, and had this intake hanging on the wall. I ask him how much for the intake, as I thought it would look great on my new Cougar. $100 he said. No way, I said, since you could buy a brand new Edelbrock 4V intake for almost the same price then. So I passed on it, wish I hadn’t, but who knew it was that rare…LOL
